The problem with BC raiding

"... is all the class synergies. Yep you heard it here, the class synergies are a problem with BC raiding. Why is this. You might ask, well it''s not overly obvious at first. On first glance it looks great, all these classes capable of buffing other members of the raid and all these synergies available through talent specs and whatnot. You have shadow priests benefiting all the casters with misery, the warlocks with shadow weaving, warlocks benefiting casters with curse of elements/shadows, curse of recklessness for the physical DPS classes. You have mages applying scorch debuffs to help out other fire mages or fire throwing warlocks, or frost mages helping out other frost mages. Feral druids'' Leader of the pack benefiting their group, hunters'' ferocious inspiration benefiting either melee or caster dps and being dependent on crit, so the druid LOTP buff helps them out, survival hunters helping out the entire raid''s phsyical dps classes and even the marksman hunter provides a fair to middlin buff to physical dps classes with their trueshot aura. You have DPS warriors being able to be debuff specialists with thunderclap, demo shout, and buffing their group with battle shout as well as helping out the other physical DPS classes with deep arms tree talents. You have the age-old sunders from the tank helping out physical DPS classes, warlocks'' imps helping out the tanks, shadow priests mana regen helping out mana dependent DPS classes as well as healers, you have shaman totems on both sides now, ret paladin debuffs, you have hemo rogues doing a similar debuff to arms warriors, the list goes on and on and on... there are a hundred different and really great raid synergies... and then you start looking into it a little deeper... You see that the DPS warrior doesn''t want to be arms spec because their personal DPS sucks compared to fury warriors''.

The rogue doesn''t want to be hemo specced because he feels that his DPS won''t be as good as another spec. The hunter doesn''t want to be survival specced because he feels that his personal DPS won''t be as good as another spec. The shaman doesn''t want to be resto specced because he feels his melee or caster buffs are better and he wants to be a sexy DPS class. The affliction lock doesn''t want to throw CoE/CoS/CoR because they get a crapload more DPS out of throwing CoAgony/CoDoom. The destruction ""crit bitch"" warlock doesn''t want to throw CoE/CoS/CoR because they feel like they''re already providing a buff with their hopefully constantly up imp. shadow bolt debuff and that they should get a damage curse in return. The shadow priest doesn''t want to be in the healer group and miss out on ferocious inspiration or shaman totems. You have a raid leader trying to fit all they can into a 25 man raid group... and having to make choices. How does the raid leader make those choices. wow gold Does the raid leader choose the most ""selfless"" folks to fill their limited raid slots. Does the raid leader pick the best performing DPS classes and not worry about those who might buff the raid. Does the raid leader force some folks to take ""bitch"" specs to buff the raid at the expense of their personal DPS. wow gold What will happen to those folks who take ""selfless"" specs when farm status occurs for the raid instance. Will they be left sitting while other higher DPS classes come through to clear it all faster. How do you make decisions about loot. world of warcraft gold Do you give it to the person with the highest DPS or the person with lower DPS but that provides the buffs that makes the highest DPS player have that DPS...

it''s all very messy and difficult. Classic old example from pre-BC days. wow gold There was a warlock in guild that was ""forced"" to take a ""bitch"" spec. Improved Imp, improved healthstones, maledition, the works... basically was forced to take ALL of the raid buffing talents at the expense of their own personal DPS. mp3 player Right after BC was released and raids were paring down to their 25 minimum folks from their previous 40, this person was told that their personal DPS had to improve or that their raid slot was in jeopardy... so... yeah... wow gold force them to ignore DPS enhancing talents so as to ""buff the raid"" and then tell them that their DPS isn''t good enough to come to the raid... 11 World of Warcraft Leveling Tips You Can't Do Without

"1. Get QuestHelper Addon 2. Get a good Leveling Guide 3. Get a proper Leveling Build for your Class 4. Ensure you grind mobs in between Quests if they are within 2 levels of you on the way 5. Try to pick zones that have a lot of quests in a small area (Leveling Guide can help with this) 6. Get an Addon that Displays your Experience per hour Titan Panel can do this 7. Don't waste time chasing gear 8. Only do instance runs once to complete quests 9. Try to avoid grouping to do quests unless you can't do them yourself 10. Finish as many quests as you can in a zone before going back to turn them in 11. Plan your quest routes so that they form an efficient loop that leads you back to turn ins With the above 11 leveling tips it's hard to go wrong. Here is a detailed explanation of each tip. 1. QuestHelper is an addon that tells you where to complete each quest on the map and has a minimap direction area to point you on a recommended route. However, the recommended route feature of QuestHelper is limited and sometimes not efficient or best at all so it is highly recommended you use QuestHelper in conjunction with a leveling guide if you don't know what quests you are supposed get or what zone you need to get quests in at your level. 2. A leveling guide is key to leveling fast. The people who write these have already gone ahead and found the most efficient routes, quests, and zones you need to be in at all levels in order to get you to max level as fast as possible. 3. Even if you have a leveling guide and QuestHelper you may find yourself sucking hard or having problems killing mobs. It is recommended you gear your character for leveling and try to avoid PvP talents until you are finished leveling. 4.

Especially early on grinding mobs in between quests can save you a lot of time because you will be getting 70-200exp per mob in the earlier levels so it only makes sense to gain experience on the way to all of your quests because most quests are only worth 1000-9000 exp for a good one and you can easily get more exp grinding mobs to and from quests. 5. If you find yourself constantly getting on flight paths or turning in quests all over the place it is best if you quickly realize that even though you can go AFK this isn't an efficient way to level. Try to pick zones where you can stay in them for many levels without leaving. Stranglethorn Vale is a good example because they have a lot of quests from 30-46. 6. Getting an Addon to display your experience per hour is a good way to compare zones and talent builds. wow gold If you notice your sucking on the exp/hour compared to the last talent build or zone then it's probably time to switch zones. As you get higher in level you will want to be gaining more exp per hour. 7. Don't waste time chasing gear because it will get replaced very fast while you are leveling up from quests and drops. wow gold There is no reason to spend an hour in the auction house upgrading the gear on your level 20 character. An hour at this level is equivalent to a level gained. 8. Instance runs are fun and challenging but they are not a productive way to gain experience(unless you are powerleveling) but can be somewhat effective if you compile a lot of quests for the zones. buy wow gold Instances like Stockades and Zul'Furak have a lot of quests for them for example, but some instances don't have many quests. 9.

Grouping is a poor way to gain experience for several reasons, the most obvious is your experience per enemy killed is cut in half. This means you have to kill 2x as many mobs and if you notice while soloing, there just aren't enough mobs available to kill to make up for this. 10. wow gold Don't waste time finishing a quest and then turning it in right away. Do as many as you can while you are out and then come back in for a grand turn-in you will feel better about leveling from the massive experience you gain. 11. Plan quest routes in your head so that you hit all of the quests on the way and don't have to go out of the way to any of the quests making them inefficient to do. mp3 players When I plan routes i try to make a circle or loop I can run and return back to town to turn the quests in. I hope you enjoyed these 11 leveling tips if you have any more leveling tips for players please leave a comment. " "I’ve been playing this game close to two years and I’m on my third guild. No drama, no guild meltdown, just life. My first guild had a couple officers leave due to personal issues, which resulted in several sub-segments of the guild forming their own new guilds. wow gold My second guild saw several of it’s officers leave to start a more hardcore raiding guild, which resulted in a mass exodus.

Guild Drama

"Everyone talks about guild drama. Let me tell you about mine. My guild was in Molten Core. We had it on farm, so we were basically going through the motions, making sure that all of our new recruits were geared up correctly for our Blackwing Lair runs. We got to Shazzrah, where I (as a rogue) had the job of standing around with a bow or gun. Not very rogue-like, to be sure. Being Combat-specced, I wanted to be in the thick of it, fighting alongside the main tank. The fight begins, and all of a sudden we yell over VOIP “FOR THE ALLIAAAANNNCE!” and I and four other rogues rush in and start meleeing Shazzrah. Our guild is exploding over Vent, talking about how we’re going to wipe now. Our tank is yelling. Our healers are going crazy. But the rogues are alive! Shazzrah is very vulnerable to melee. The day before, the rest of the rogues and I had bought full sets of leather Arcane resist gear, spending a lot of gold, just so we could go in and surprise our guild with a quick melee Shazzrah kill. With our resists up that high, we barely got hit with any of his Arcane Explosions, and we all survived the fight to bask in our victory (and the heart attacks of the rest of our guild). The gear wasn’t going to bring us victory anywhere else. The investment wasn’t for something permanent or even remotely lasting. But those few moments—in with my friends, laughing our heads off, destroying a boss who had relegated us to the sidelines for so long—that’s the kind of togetherness that World of Warcraft can bring a group. My boys and WoW As a mom, I am always concerned about the things my two teenage boys are doing online. When I saw the new game they had gotten interested in, World of Warcraft, it caught my eye, first due to the beautiful artwork and creativity of the settings and characters, but then because of the unique interaction I witnessed with this game.

At first, they were sharing a computer, and one copy of the game. They would take turns, and they were helping each other indirectly within the game. They would share items, help set groups up, and give each other advice from over each other's shoulders! It was great how they worked together! Eventually, we saw the need to purchase not only another copy of the game, but also another computer for my younger son (these ended up being their last year's Christmas gifts!) so that they could play together at the same time. wow gold Aside from the cooperative aspects between the boys, this game has also been an educational experience for both of them. My older son is learning French, and would often join French guilds and speak to friends in French. On that subject, both of the boys have gained extensive knowledge regarding cultures in different areas of the US, and from different countries, as they have joined guilds with people from different areas of the world and have been able to speak with them. wow gold It also helped to create social interaction and cooperative skills without even leaving home! In addition, it helped them to acquire create goal-oriented and decision-making skills, as they strove to complete quests and tasks to move up to new levels. It also helped them learn how to allocate money as they tried to save up for different animals to ride in the game. My older son is dealing with anxiety issues, and World of Warcraft became an invaluable ""coping skill"" for him! " "Way back in the day (and when I say back in the day, I mean before Diablo II had even come out, to give you an idea of how long ago this was) I was in a guild on Battle.net.

cheap wow gold We tore it up in StarCraft and were big into those silly channel moderation wars back before chat bots were restricted. I had a couple of good friends who stuck around for a while and with whom I ended up playing in Diablo II. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but I think Diablo II eventually got old and I moved on to other games, coming back for a while when the expansion came out, but I lost touch with most of the people I had hung with. Fast forward a few years later when World of Warcraft comes out, I’m in a new guild, really open, social and casual – meaning we let in pretty much anybody. wow gold I was playing on one of my characters named Coldfire – the same handle I had used since the beginning of my time on the Internet. This guy in the guild I had never seen before starts giving me guff about being unoriginal and having jacked the name from somebody (for a period of time, I was well known in certain circles on Battle.net). I responded that I had been using the name for almost eight years, through Kali and Battle.net and various other games. mp3 players He said, “Wait, you were Coldfire on Battle.net. ” Me – Yes Him – Coldfire from 666. (666 was my old guild) Me – Yeah, who is this. wow gold Do I know you. Him – Dude, I thought you were dead. This is Damian. Turns out, completely at random, one of my old friends from Battle.net had just so happened to roll a character on my realm, and just so happened to have joined the same guild I was in.

Hugging a Bear

"“I want to be able to turn into a bear,” my mother-in-law said, studying the character creation screen. “Who doesn’t. ” I said. Our family had joined forces to hook her up with a game and play time for Christmas. Up until then, she had been playing games in which the object was to match similarly colored bubbles together until they exploded and gave her points. This was fine, but we knew she needed more adventure in her life. After carefully choosing the delicate features of her night elf, she watched the loading screen with interest, enjoyed the opening sequence, and then faced the only part of the game that has ever given her trouble. ""You want to go talk to the guy with the exclamation point over his head,"" I said. ""Where. "" she said, swiping her mouse across the pad. Her night elf immediately dropped her head, stared at the ground, and bounced impatiently. ""This way,"" I said, making a complicated pointing gesture that, in retrospect, probably didn't help. Obligingly, she hit an arrow key, the space bar, and moved the mouse again, somersaulting her Druid into a nearby bush. I realized then that while I had been circle-strafing since nearly before I could walk, this was the first keyboard/mouse game she'd ever played. I got a drink, and settled down to walk her through her first quest: kill ten mangy nightsabers. After she'd tested her devastating druidic magic on a few terminally-surprised squirrels, she was ready to go. I don't want to brag on her behalf too much, but legends were born that day. Wrestling with the controls, she pinballed off tree trunks, cracking everything that moved with her staff. The mangy nightsabers never stood a chance. She turned in her quest. Drums rumbled, trumpets blared, and a golden light flowered around her.

She was level 2. I wished her luck, and went to work, promising to check up on her often and see if she needed any help. The next time I saw her, her level 5 druid had just run into a town of furious furbolgs, hoping to give them a /hug because they looked like bears. wow gold It didn't end well. After that, I logged in to find her lost in Darnassus at level 8, jumping in a fountain. At level 10, she and my wife celebrated by throwing a Darnassus bear-form dance party. wow gold I still have the screenshot: seven bears forever locked in mid-groove, rocking the house down. By 15, she had an alternate character. She would have leveled faster, but she was spending a lot of time backtracking to help new players through the first quests. She tells us that the reason she likes World of Warcraft so much is that life doesn't often give you rewards when it should. wow When she drives to work at five in the morning every day, no one gives her an enchanted weapon when she pulls into the parking lot. When she helps ten people over the phone, a pile of gold doesn't drop into her lap. But when she logs in, she faces challenges, conquers them, and the prizes pour on in. wow gold Now, she has more high-level characters than I do, better gear, far more gold from working the auction house, and the diplomacy not to rub it in my face. I'm not entirely sure I could take her in a duel. So keep this in mind: a lot of different types of people play World of Warcraft. mp3 player The next time a night elf druid saves you from a pack of hungry raptors, it may be her.

If you confidently challenge a night elf druid to a duel. and she stops peacefully fishing just long enough to destroy you, it could be her too. wow gold If she gives you a /hug right after, you'll know for sure. " "In my first days of World of Warcraft, I was a curious little tauren druid.

Having Fun

"Back in beta, my husband rolled a gnome mage and had a grand old time trouncing around Azeroth. He decided not to continue playing so the copy we preordered became mine. I rolled a gnome rogue on another realm, played for a time, and rolled a gnome mage for giggles, and to rub in his face that I could level faster than he could. About this time, our son (then seven and a half) was struggling in school with reading and making bad decisions. He was constantly in trouble for doing things that resulted from bad choices. One of his favorite activities had become watching my gnomes vanquish foes and commit various acts of mischief. He then asked if he could make a character, just to try. I decided, why not. No harm. He sat at the computer and created a human warrior with blond hair and a childlike expression. He looked around the room and saw a poster from the second Lord of the Rings movie and a bottle of Febreeze. Febrower was born. He watched the opening sequence with rapture and became very excited as the camera panned over the Northshire Abbey and there stood his new valiant hero. He approached the quest giver and, with painful tedium, read the quest instructions out loud. Off he went, killing all manner of everything until his quest was complete and he turned it in. He continued on his path toward greatness...or so he saw it, slowly gaining levels. What he didn't realize was he was also gaining speed and accuracy in his reading abilities. He was gaining social skills that will serve him the rest of his life. In addition, this has helped with motivating him to actually do his homework, which used to be a major battle. That is, he isn't allowed to play until his homework is done and his room is clean.

He also doesn't get into trouble at school like he once did, because he knows if he does, playing World of Warcraft is out of the question. Febrower now stands proudly at level 46, the product of a year and a half's occasional play. His favorite things to do in game include dispatching all critters...and I do mean ALL, dancing in the cities, helping lower-level players, and going into battlegrounds. OK, yes, when he goes in them he goofs off now and then, but once in a while he does participate in the battle and actually lends good assistance to the team. So, if you see a 46 warrior riding naked on his horse in Arathi Basin, or doing his own thing in Warsong Gulch, don't get mad, because you can't phase him. Instead, realize this little guy has become an excellent student and a happy kid, and is doing what the game was designed for: having fun! " "I have always been the type of mom who was totally involved in my kids’ activities, EXCEPT for gaming. Even though I can recall each summer vacation by what videogame dominated their time, I never had the interest to sit down and actually play one with them. Well, at least until my oldest went off to college and the nest started to dwindle. Both of my kids have been in World of Warcraft since beta. They play on different realms and in different factions. wow gold My son, who was still in high school at the time, convinced me I could play World of Warcraft even though I never had done anything in a game other than run into walls in Mario Brothers once or twice. The goal was to be able to play with my daughter while she was away at college.boaerjeu With my son’s help I created Mamadee, an orc (since my daughter was Horde) hunter (like my son’s main character), on Silver Hand (my daughter’s realm).

wow gold He tutored me and got me over my extreme case of the nerves until I reached level 20 and was able to surprise my daughter by applying to her guild. Yes, by then I had stopped running into walls, though I did on occasion still fall off of the flight towers. My daughter was thrilled when we sprang the surprise on her. wow power leveling She quickly set about introducing me to all her friends. I was approved after my grunt phase (boy did I sweat that poll) and became a member of a wonderful family role-playing guild, Rotten Luck. In this wonderful environment, I dawdled my way through Azeroth at what became known as ""Mamadee pace,"" which means I stopped to smell the roses and experience everything I could along the way. mp3 players It took me nine months to get to level 60, but I don't regret a moment of it, even swimming underwater when weather was introduced to see if the raindrops were visible from below the surface. Now level 70 and an officer in Rotten Luck, I’ve also tried out other characters and have filled all 10 slots on the realm. Recently I was reminded of why I play World of Warcraft. wow gold Our guild had its first Gruul kill a week or so ago. I was there dpsing my heart out while my daughter was a healing machine! One of our raiding alliance partners made a video of the kill. When it was posted on our forum I actually cried. wow gold You could clearly see Mamadee and her daughter in their first joint initial boss kill. I was at home and she was away at school. How many mothers and daughters can say they shared such a glorious moment.

Bridging the Gap

"One year ago at Christmas time I bought a copy of World of Warcraft for my college-age son. His friends at school were all playing, and being a videogame buff he wanted to try for himself. He created a human warrior on Mug'thol and started playing. I frequently came in and watched him play, and decided it looked like so much fun I would create a character for myself. I created a separate account and created a human paladin for myself. We quested together and had a grand time! By the time we had leveled these characters to 60 and had gotten Burning Crusade we decided to try a walk on the ""bad"" side and create Horde characters on another realm. Thus, Merculian and Cellinda were born. Once again we fought and quested and leveled together, this time with the help of some of Jacob's school friends who were on Cenarion Circle with us. As time progressed and we continued to play, my younger son and my husband became intrigued by our conversations and also made characters for themselves. World of Warcraft has now become a family activity for us, with each of us helping the others. The best part of this is the lines of communication it has opened for my husband and me with our teenager and young adult. It has given us a common frame of reference and a way for our children to feel more ""equal"" to us. Our relationships have improved and the kids now feel free to talk about problems, both in and out of Azeroth, with us. Thanks Blizzard Entertainment for giving me a way to bridge the generation gap and for helping my kids see me not only as Mom but as a person, in the same way that I can now view them as developing adults and not just my children Epic Gear About one year ago, thanks to World of Warcraft, I met my wife Lori at the middle school where we both teach.

My students and friends got me playing a few years ago and I love the game. Jokingly, I would tell people I'm going to probably marry someone who plays too. Little did I know I could predict the future. One day after work I was walking to my car talking to a student about places I like to farm in-game. We walked past Lori, who overheard the conversation. The next day she came up to me and asked, ""Do you play World of Warcraft. "" I was shocked! That same day we went on our first date, where our discussions moved from World of Warcraft to worldly things, and we discovered how much we had in common. I rerolled a troll shaman on her realm, Ysera, where I quickly caught up to her priest and then we leveled together. Last Christmas, when we both hit 60, I asked her to marry me. Playing together and getting to know each other was the best time of my life. Today we are married and I now have two stepsons, who also play. My new family is the most epic gear I could have ever found with this game. I have a beautiful wife and two awesome sons, and we are still playing today. We are a family of 70s. For the Horde! " "The second Arena season was half over and there I was, in the middle of the ocean, sitting on the water thinking of what to do next (as shamans like myself often do). wow gold I was finished with raids for the week, had 75k honor stocked up, and had enough gold in my pocket to buy a small island. I had the title of Gladiator, and was wearing a full set of Merciless gear with the choice of just about any tabard there was in World of Warcraft. I figured the best thing to do would be to log out and find a different form of entertainment for the time being.

Just as I was about to pack up and leave, I caught sight of a druid in aquatic form swimming up right beneath me. ""I sure wish I could walk on water,"" she says. wow gold ""You know... I can make it happen,"" I reply. Soon after, we were both sitting out there, just chatting away, sharing tales of our experiences throughout Azeroth and Outland. mp3 We must have spent a good hour or two talking with each other. We became friends that day, and have been ever since. I often think about that time and realize... just when I thought there was no more progression to be had, I could not have been more wrong. wow gold I learned that even though I may not need reputation, honor, or gold, I could always use another friend. Kitten Companion When World of Warcraft was barely out of its first month I had already found myself a great guild full of cool people who were fun to hang around with. One of the officers of the guild had taken in a kitten recently to take care of and had fallen in love with it. Sadly, the kitten died not too long after and he was heartbroken. Feeling sorry for him, having just lost a cat myself, I figured I had to do something to cheer him up. buy wow gold So I spent the next five hours in Stormwind hunting down Lil' Timmy who sells the white kitten pet. Lucky for me he spawned and I was able to buy the cat and send it off to my friend with a nice letter. When I logged on later that day he had returned and had received my letter. wow gold He was so moved he was literally crying into his microphone over TeamSpeak while he thanked me. He told me it was, ""The most amazing thing I have ever seen anyone do in a game like this"". And as we continued to level he kept the white kitten by his side, into Molten Core and beyond. " .
